Work in Norwich

Postbag and Cases in Norwich

The Norwich office takes up local issues for local people.

I have two full time caseworkers in Norwich. I deal with a whole host of issues from housing to planning to neighbour disputes to immigration problems. We can also act as a signposting service if you are not sure where to go for help. A sample of some of the issues that I deal with are below:

  • Housing
  • Health
  • Child Support Agency
  • Tax Credit Issues
  • Environmental Issues
  • Maintenance & City Care
  • Norwich Airport
  • Immigration issues

I produce an Annual Constituency Report each year in the form of a double sided A4 leaflet. The leaflet is then distributed door to door by myself and local volunteers to every house in Norwich North. Although for the first time this year some constituents may get their leaflet in the post.

I am also involved with a number of local campaigns in different parts of Norwich North:

Sprowston: Volunterring with the Assist Trust and issues with Tesco at Blue Boar Lane.

Old Catton: I presented a football prize to the Old Catton Football Club and hold regular surgeries at Oak Grove Chapel in Catton Grove

Thorpe St Andrew: I am opposing an application to put up a phone mast.

Heartease: I am very concerned about the proposed introduction of a City Academy with religious links. I want to make sure local people get a say before anything goes ahead.

Taverham: We have been helping residents get improved street lighting.

Hellesdon: The development of the airport and pollution levels

Drayton: Traffic at schools and narrow pavements.

Mile Cross: I recently held a meeting in the Norman Centre to discuss antisocial behaviour with concerned residents.

Sewell area: Working with residents on the devlopment of the old Start-rite site. I recently held my Christmas Card Competition at Angel Road Infant School. I have also been campaigning for a 20mph speed limit to be introduced outside schools.

Mousehold: I am working with the Mousehold Defenders to protect the Heath and and recently took part in conservation work.

Surgeries

I hold regular surgeries in my office on Fridays, and where necessary I visit constituents in their homes. I also hold surgeries in Lidl, Tesco, Sainsburys, Asda, Somerfields and in Taverham Village Hall. So if you fancy a quick chat with me, look out for me one of these Saturdays at your local supermarket.
